At the risk of cursing the Cubs - something for which we've gained a bit of a reputation - there's virtually no chance they can cough up a wild-card berth now.
Barring a choke that would be so great as to shock even the most pessimistic of Cubs fans, there is little reason to think the North Siders won't be in the postseason.
First of all, the Cubs are playing a really terrible Reds team and then a Braves team that is altering its rotation for the playoffs and has almost no reason to play this weekend.
Then there's Houston, which outside of Roy Oswalt and Roger Clemens, can't win a game and already trails the Cubs ...
