Constantia residents will decide Tuesday whether their century-old, all-volunteer library will become a public entity supported by taxpayers.
Should voters defeat the proposition, the library in Constantia will most likely close its doors.
"We're short on volunteers and we're short on funds, which will probably run out within a year," said Laurie Mahaffy, a member of the charter committee and the Julie Thurston Library Guild, the 18-woman volunteer committee that has run the library for decades.
