Oct. 13--KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- H&R Block marked the start of a $138 million headquarters project Tuesday that is expected to spark sweeping downtown redevelopment. The company did so with the blessing of co-founder Henry Bloch.
"I'm pleased that what we are doing as a company is part of something bigger -- the rebirth of Kansas City's downtown," the 82-year-old Bloch told about 100 people at a groundbreaking ceremony near where construction has begun on the 17-story complex at 13th and Main streets.
