Last month I talked about the ingredients and considerations for assembling a practical, useful survival kit for hunters. This month I want to expand on the details of that vitally important "ingredient," the first-aid kit. Sooner or later, and one way or another, we all get hurt while hunting. It can be a scratch, a deep cut, a burn, a twisted ankle, a knife gouge, an animal bite, or, God forbid, a gunshot. Little or large, injuries occur, and the prepared hunter will be glad for the small effort expended in creating and carrying a practical first-aid kit. As for the unprepared, they get to experience that vexingly true adage: "Preparation weighs ounces; regret weighs ...
