WaterVoice Wales today responded formally to price increases proposed by the industry regulator Ofwat, describing them as "unacceptable and unaffordable to many customers".
If Ofwat's proposals are confirmed on 2 December 2004, the proposals would allow increases in April 2005 of 13.2% plus inflation for Welsh Water (Dwr Cymru), an increase of more than six times inflation. This makes the 4.3% plus inflation for Dee Valley Water look relatively modest at only two and a half times inflation. ...
