SEOUL, Oct 15 Asia Pulse - Samsung Electronics Co. (KSE:005930), the world's largest manufacturer of computer memory chips, said Friday third-quarter net income rose 46.2 per cent on rising demand for flash-memory chips.
Net income rose to 2.68 trillion won (US$2.34 billion) from 1.83 billion won on the year prior, the company said in a statement. Operating profit rose 33.5 per cent to 2.74 trillion won from 2.05 trillion won, failing to meet analyst expectations.
