2004 OCT 19 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Immtech International, Inc., (IMM) announced that enrollment has been completed in the phase IIb extended dose regimen arm of its clinical trial for treating African sleeping sickness.
This arm of the open-label trial of DB289 included treatment of patients twice per day (100 mg each dose) for 10 days. The trial objective was to determine if extended therapy would increase the efficacy (or percentage of patients cured) of DB289.
The study was conducted at two sites in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - Maluku and Vanga. The new regimen was tested in 30 patients who were screened in local villages for the ...
