Oct. 15--Gov. Rendell yesterday appointed an old friend with wide legal and business experience as the new chairman of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Thomas A. "Tad" Decker, who oversees 500 lawyers at the Center City-based law firm of Cozen O'Connor, will leave that job to run the seven-member board that will decide who gets the 14 slot-machine licenses approved by the legislature earlier this year.
Decker has a different background than Rendell's first choice, former Philadelphia Police Capt. Francis P. Friel, who resigned last month amid ...
