Oct. 16--Austin Ligon is test driving an idea by opening a second Richmond-area CarMax lot.
The strategy could steer the Richmond-based automotive retailer toward generating $40 billion in sales in 15 years. It had sales of $4.6 billion last year.
"We're pushing the envelope with this store," said Ligon, CarMax's president and chief executive officer. "Where can we be in the future? This store will help us study that."
