It's safe to say the new No. 24 has arrived.
After an offseason of concern and comparisons between the Washington Redskins' old No. 24 - Champ Bailey - and its new one - Shawn Springs, Springs appears to have validated his big-money signing and the club's decision to trade Bailey to the Denver Broncos.
Through five games, the cornerback is flourishing in Gregg Williams' defensive scheme, in which he plays a multifaceted role that has him lining up in unpredictable places and even musing about a late-career switch to safety.
