The need for powerful, customized applications continues to outpace the capacity of the programming industry. This gap between available tools and application requirements will not be bridged until personal computer users have the power to develop their own software.
Object-oriented programming languages have the potential of moving application development away from code altogether, enabling relatively nontechnical users as well as developers to create their own software without sacrificing either performance or functionality.
