Last Sat'day mornin' Shorty Gage n'his cousin from Friendship, Slats Farnum, were down at the Cove sittin' on a driftwood log under an overhangin' dead spruce sippin' a few pick-me-ups when they came up with the idea of a Cove Folk Festival.
They called a meetin' f'up at Amos" store n'we all went 'cause most of the shedder lobsters had gone south anyway. Everybody but Sam Wheeler went. Sam don't hold f'anything he don't understand like Thermos bottles n'duct tape.
Anyways, Short led off saying we Covers could make a bundle sponsorin' a folk festival. He went on listin' the many talents right here in the Cove.
