Expressions of pride and pain collided on Lisa Beamer's face Friday as she spoke about how her husband, Todd, would have loved the new Wheaton College student center that bears his name.
The spotlight found the Beamers when Todd's famous last known words -"Let's roll" - became the marquee story of heroism during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Friday, Lisa Beamer turned that spotlight onto the college that she said instilled the sense of moral duty that compelled her husband to fight against the hijackers on his plane before it crashed in Pennsylvania.
