Oct. 19--The recent defection of a high-level Best Buy Co. executive to rival Circuit City marked another instance of the growing battle between America's two largest retailers of consumer electronics.
Circuit City announced Oct. 4 it had hired Philip Schoonover, a former Best Buy executive vice president, as its chief merchandising officer and executive vice president.
