Oct. 19--SCB PROFIT UP 67 PERCENT: Siam Commercial Bank yesterday reported a nine-month net profit of 15.36 billion baht, a rise of 67 percent from 9.2 billion in the same period last year.
It attributed the gains to a 5.6-billion-baht increase from the divestment of non-core businesses, as well as improved growth in interest and fee-based income. Third-quarter net profits were 3.6 billion baht, up 28.5 percent from the previous quarter before investment gains.
