AT $499.99, the HP Color LaserJet 2550L is a bargain. It may be a bit plodding and offers limited paper capacity, but its output quality is impressive.
The basic-looking unit has the usual cluster of buttons and indicator lights but lacks an LCD, so you'll have to make setting adjustments through the software. What's more, the multipurpose paper tray is limited to 125 sheets; larger trays are optional. Printing costs are typical--about 2 cents per page for black and 2.5 cents for color.
