After a year of negotiations, the Brazilian railroad concessionaire Brasil Ferrovias - Ferronorte, Ferroban, Ferroeste and Portofer - is performing a financial restructuring. The company's largest creditor is the national development bank BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social), to which it owes R$1.5bil. The entity will make a capitalization of R$150mil resources in Brasil Ferrovias, gaining a 31% stake in Ferronorte, besides converting R$249mil debt into capital.
