The poor ratings of NBC Universal's "The Jane Pauley Show" since its debut in firstrun syndication a month ago have led to its first downgrade: WKBN-TV Nashville has removed Pauley from 3 p.m. and shunted her to the less-desirable timeslot of 11 a.m.
The Pauley show was averaging only a 1.5 rating on WKBN during its first four weeks, but that number had plunged to a 1.1 last week.
A 1.l was unacceptable because Pauley leads into WKBN's local newscast at 4 p.m., which toppled from an average 4.6 rating last season to last week's dismal 1.5.
WKBN has the luxury of being able to shift Paramount TV'S "Judge Judy" back into the 3 p.m. timeslot, where ...
