Oct. 20--CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The owners of another 96 homes off Homestead Road say they'd much rather become Chapel Hillians than Carrburators.
Residents of the Highlands neighborhood have asked the Town Council to annex their neighborhood over the next couple of years. Their petition comes just a couple weeks after owners of 20 homes in the nearby Highland Meadows subdivision filed a similar request with Chapel Hill.
Both neighborhoods in effect are saying "no thanks" to the Carrboro Board of Aldermen, which has begun taking steps to annex the two neighborhoods and several others.
