One onstage mix in "Crimes of the Heart" is sweet and predictable: A couple of scoops of sugar, three lemons, lots of ice and a quarter pitcher or so of water. There you have it: lemonade. A good Southern drink, perfect for a warm Mississippi day.
In the play, the lemonade is made right before your eyes, onstage, in the kitchen.
If all the scooping and pouring and mixing (with a wooden spoon) goes well, it will take about a minute.
