Highlighting a gap in Wisconsin's voter-registration system, the Republican Party of Wisconsin alleged Wednesday that some Dane County Jail inmates who are ineligible to vote have gotten absentee ballots from the Madison city clerk's office.
GOP chairman Rick Graber called on local officials to enforce the state law banning felons from voting if they're still on probation or parole. Once a person convicted of a felony completes his sentence, voting rights are restored.
