2004 OCT 27 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- 2-CdA has high long-term efficacy in hairy cell leukemia (HCL) patients.
Oncologists in Germany evaluated the "long-term results of both pretreated and previously untreated patients (pts)" with HCL "using uniformly a single 7-day course of 2-chlorodeoxyadenosine (2-CdA) by continuous infusion."
"In addition, the probability of obtaining another response with this drug in pts who relapsed after 2-CdA treatment" was determined, noted U. Jehn and coauthors at the University of Munich.
