Oct. 22--A 36-acre triangular piece of land next to U.S. 1 at Southwest 144th Street stands out in a developed neighborhood. It appears to be just trees and brush and rocks -- but experts say it's a special place.
"We've got an eagle nesting there, and there are plants along the pine rocks, that because of the rock ledge, are so unique," said Emily Young, who runs Miami-Dade County's Environmentally Endangered Land program.
