When baseball experts looked at the Cardinals' starting rotation in spring training, many claimed the staff consisted of Matt Morris and a bunch of back-end starters. Little did they know that when the postseason rolled around the Cardinals' staff would have Morris (who's struggling) pitching behind the likes of Jason Marquis and Woody Williams.
With the National League's second-best ERA (3.75), the Cardinals' pitching did its part to make sure the offense could lead the club to the promised land. In all, five Cardinals starters (including the injured Chris Carpenter) won 11 or more games this season.
