The opening this weekend of Dick's Sporting Goods stores at East Towne and West Towne malls means the Madison area's already-competitive sporting goods retail scene will become even more so.
Sports is a high priority to many area residents, and that translates into robust sporting goods sales, retailers say. But the two new Dick's stores are among nearly 150 sports-related stores in the Madison area.
