NBC Universal's troubled syndicated rookie "The Jane Pauley Show" has got hit with its third and fourth downgrades, these coming on KATU-TV Portland (Ore.) and WDSU-TV New Orleans.

Both downgrades will take effect Monday, and they follow the demotion of Pauley on Sept. 27 by KXAS Dallas and WKBN Nashville.

But NBC U has found something to be hopeful about. The "Pauley" program has increased its ratings in Dallas and Nashville this week in supposedly weaker time periods.
