Oct. 26--AIRFIELD NAMED FOR 97-YEAR-OLD VISIONARY: Ernie Renzel isn't big on ceremony.
But there he was at San Jose City Hall with a sparkle in his eye as dignitaries praised him as a man with the kind of vision that made Silicon Valley what it is.
It was a good point. Everything that came along after Renzel -- the semiconductor, the personal computer, the Internet -- would have come along with much more difficulty without his contribution.
