LANCASTER - The Antelope Valley Union High School District will spend an $8.6 million surplus on bonuses for employees, a Littlerock High School stadium press box, and restoring school discretionary funds.
Of the $8.6 million, about $1.3 million was used to offset a reduction in state revenue because enrollment fell short by nearly 230 students from projections.
``We had a list that had been compiled by staff and then that went to the budget review committee. They came back with some recommendations, and we approved some,'' board President Al Beattie said.
