The Ecuadorian company Empresa Agroindustrial La Chonta was founded in 1974 to use forest resources in Guarayos region, and currently the company is part of La Chonta group, which also comprises Aserradero Lago Rey. La Chonta and Lago Rey have forest concessions of 100,000 ha and 120,000 ha, respectively, in Santa Cruz department. Both concessions have been certified by SmartWood program. Currently, Bolivia exports certified wood products to more than 20 countries, and among the main markets are UK, US, France, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany.
