THE depleted Frigg natural gas field in the North Sea was shut down for good yesterday after 27 years of natural gas production for the British market.
The field's operator, France's Total group, awarded a pounds 250m contract to Norway's Aker Kvaerne for the removal of platforms and other infrastructure from the depleted field.
