Oct. 28--PATTANI, Thailand -- Despite the heightened climate of unrest and violence, Big C Supercenter Plc sees good profit potential in the South of Thailand and has opened its first branch in the predominantly Muslim region.
Yesterday, the company held an opening ceremony for a 370-million-baht hypermarket in Pattani. Some 500 local residents attended the event including the chairman of the Islamic Committee of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces.
