Features of PVDC
Besides the conventional properties of plastics, PVDC (polyvinylidene chloride) is self-extinguishing, oil resistant, preserves flavor and has excellent resistance to moisture and mildew. It also has good printing and heat-sealing qualities. PVDC is excellent in terms of blocking out oxygen and water. Its shortcomings include poor film-forming characteristics, low independent film-forming strength and high cost. In terms of overall blocking features, however, PVDC is still the best plastic packing material in the world.
