Oct. 24--THERE'S GOLD IN THOSE TEXAS WINERIES: Texas isn't often thought of as a leading wine-producing state.
That title goes unopposed to California and its acclaimed vineyards, including Napa Valley and Simi Valley.
The Lone Star state seldom has been mentioned in the same breath as New York, Washington or Oregon as wine-making states.
But that is changing.
Texas ranks fifth among the top wine-producing states in America. And, yes, all 50 states produce wine.
