BOSTON _ Bostonians were elated, exhausted and still somewhat addled on Thursday, dealing with the dawn of a new, Curse-free era after generations of despair. Among them were 28-year-old Dan Saval, who learned Sox-related angst at the knee of his father, Jerry, 61, who learned it from the late Saval patriarch, Sam. This weekend, Jerry will visit Sam's grave to bring him the news that the long wait is over.

"I'm going to tell them, `Dad, they won it. Uncle Saul, they won it,' " Jerry said.
