When a fellow Marketing Section listserver participant sought ideas on getting members to visit an updated Web site, Catherine A. Lada volunteered her insights. Director of communications and member services at the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, Alexandria, Virginia, Lada shared the following helpful strategies:
Use the power of search engines. Send site information to major search engines. Place banner ads on top search engines, or try one of the paid keyword services offered by the search engines. Make sure you include important keywords--words your target audience would use to search for your association--throughout your site.
