Aug. 17--Geico Corp.'s decision to re-enter the New Jersey auto insurance market will mean more business for its new service center in Amherst, the company's top local executive said Monday.
The nation's fifth-largest auto insurer said Monday that it will begin selling auto insurance in New Jersey again after a 28-year hiatus. The company made the decision after New Jersey revamped its regulations to make it less burdensome and costly for insurers.
Geico's new Amherst service center will handle all the sales, service and underwriting for New Jersey, giving a boost to the facility just a few months after it opened.
