2004 NOV 2 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Researchers review the current state of AIDS and HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa in a recent issue of the Croatian Medical Journal.
According to a study from Malawi and the United States, "Sub-Saharan Africa is the region most severely affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Of the 40 mill ion HIV infected individuals at the end of 2003, 26 million (65%) were living in the area. Reasons for the high infection rate include historical, political, economic, and cultural factors."
