Winston (Win) Borden, a former state senator and president of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, was sentenced Wednesday to two years and three months in prison for failing to file income tax returns for six years.
Borden, 60, of St. Paul, said he had admitted his guilt from the start of the case.
"The blame is wholly mine," he said. "I hope others can learn from my problems so they don't travel down the same troubled road I did."
He said he has already paid a brutal price: He's financially wiped out, and his 34-year marriage has ended, he said.
