Oct. 29--Hark! Hark to the wind! 'Tis the night, they say, When all souls come back from the far away -- The dead, forgotten this many a day!

And with those joyous words, it's time again for Halloween.

Canadian poet Virna Sheard penned the ghoulish passage about a century ago. From there, we have gotten to where Halloween, the one day it's OK for kids to take candy from stranger, has become a huge consumer holiday.

Especially this Hallo-weekend, when Oct. 31 falls on a Sunday.
