Oct. 30--NASHUA, N.H. -- Shirley Collins grew up in Lowell, Mass., surrounded by fabric mills so maybe it was only a matter of time before she became infatuated with quilting.
An licensed practical nurse by trade, Collins took two years off from her career to care for her terminally ill mother. When it was time to return to work, she decided it was time to do something else, so she opened The Little Quilt Shop. She was first located in Nashua, but has since moved the cozy shop to 131 Route 101A in Amherst.
