PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local HEG LTD. currently operates a graphite manufacturing plant with an installed production capacity of 30,000 tons per year (t/y). And, the company recently achieved financial closure for a $68,000,000 loan regarding its planned plant expansion project.
Upgrade plans under consideration call for initially increasing output by some 22,000 t/y. In addition, the company is planning to build a captive coal-fired 30 Mw power station. Upon project completion, HEG is expected to have the largest single site graphite electrode plant in the world, enabling high levels of operating efficiencies as well as cost benefits.
