BOULOGNE has long been a favourite destination on the French coast for British tourists, with its range of shops, cafes and authetic Gallic hospitality.
It is France's biggest fishing port and has been important since Roman times, when it was the main link for trade and military movements between France and Britain.
Our link was via ferry and we travelled over by Speedferries from Dover - the first time a ferry link has been open between Britain and Boulogne for four years.
