The venerable radio traffic report will get a digital makeover, as Honda's Acura Division teams with XM Satellite Radio Inc. to roll out a dashboard-based navigation system that displays traffic congestion, accidents, and construction on highways in 20 U.S. cities.
The AcuraLink system not only changes the delivery mode for traffic reports but also uses a satellite link instead of the more traditional cellular telematics link.
