Mobile Mapping Systems: Overview
Grejner-Brzezinska (2001a) defines a mobile mapping system (MMS) as a kinematic platform providing a basis for multiple imaging and positioning sensors, integrated and synchronized to a common time reference. The main objective of an MMS is to provide 3D, near continuous, and automatic positioning of the platform and georeferencing information of the collected geospatial data.
