After three decades away from bull's-eye shooting, an old dog learned some new tricks at the National Championships of the classic handgun game.
It had been 30 years since my bull's-eye match days, but I realized that I didn't want to get run over by a truck before I had been to Camp Perry, Ohio, that touchstone of American handgunning, so I went for the 2004 National Matches.
NRA runs it, and the Association's Joe Roberts told me attendance was about 800. Among those hundreds of friendly shooter folks. I was able to get caught up on the classic target pistol game a bit, and learned some things of interest that might be worth sharing.
