AIRCRAFT manufacturer Airbus has notched up its 1, 000th delivery to the United States.
Senior Airbus and Northwest Airlines officers gathered in Toulouse to celebrate the delivery of the aircraft -- an A330-200 -- earlier this week.
The aircraft is the sixth A330-200 for Northwest, which also flies eight A330-300s and 148 A320 family aircraft -- the largest fleet of Airbus aircraft in North America.
An Airbus spokesman said: ``With an additional order backlog of 23 Airbus aircraft, Northwest stands among Airbus' top three airline customers worldwide.
