A SECOND Virgin train has crashed into buffers at Liverpool Lime Street station in less than a week.
Two passengers yesterday suffered slight back and whiplash injuries after the newly-launched Pendolino train hit the end of Platform Seven.
The accident, which happened at around 11. 46am, is almost identical to an incident on the same platform last Thursday.
In that case the train is thought to have slipped on wet leaves as it entered the station.
Virgin and Network Rail last night launched an investigation into the latest crash and said it was too early to speculate on the causes of the accident.
