Retiring state Rep. Jim Callahan is trying to stir up support for a special session of the Kentucky General Assembly to pass a state budget before the new legislative session starts in January.
Callahan, a Wilder Democrat who has represented Campbell County's 67th House District since 1986, is retiring at the end of the year, and the election to succeed him is one of the most hotly contested legislative races on today's ballot.
