Recent history demonstrates danger of snowslides in the Rockies
Avalanches are common occurrences in Colorado and other Rocky Mountain states. And they can suddenly and unexpectedly affect the lives of those living, working or traveling in the mountains - including highway and construction workers. Awareness of the possibility - and frequency - of avalanches is vital to anyone who is frequently in the mountains, for whatever reason.
