As if this election is not topsy-turvy enough, after they vote today, some people will be asked to register.
That's right, AFTER the vote, depending on where you live, you may be asked to sign on to the Statewide Voter Registration System, which will save you from standing in line in 2006.
By law, all voters will be required to register if they want to vote after Jan. 1, 2006. State election officials want to take advantage of today's high voter turnout by asking voters to sign up for the new system. This is for voters in the 1,500 municipalities in Wisconsin that currently do not require registration.
